Christodoulos Efstathiades participated in the Marie Curie Researchers Symposium, 25-27 September 2011, which was held in Warsaw, Poland.
The Marie Curie Researchers Symposium “SCIENCE – Passion, Mission, Responsibilities” was organised by the Polish Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the European Commission and the Polish National Contact Point for Research Programmes of the EU. It gathered about 350 participants, including 280 Marie Curie fellows from 47 countries to discuss important themes related to research careers:
- Passion: How to stimulate passion for science and scientific career?
- Mission: What is the role of science in tackling challenges faced by the society?
- Responsibility: How to communicate research results (and their applications) to the wide public? How important is the cooperation between the media and researchers?
The Symposium closed with an official opening of an online Alumni platform which enables communication and exchange of experiences among Marie Curie fellows.
